Eating bell pepper reduces chronic illnesses
Over the years we have been passionate about using food-based methods of handling malnutrition as part of our strategy to heal our often frail -on -arrival children. Our target is to nurse them back to life!
Once we organized the relevant food items and developed various menus for our children, we were pleasantly surprised when a donor- Mrs. Doyin Amosun ( owners of Cosmo Farmers Ltd) visited our home and informed us that her family has a huge farm and would like to donate any available raw vegetables on a weekly bases!!!
We often marvel at how God connected Mr. and Mrs. Amosun who shower us weekly with freshly harvested vegetables graciously delivered to us! Just name the vegetable…Juicy Tomatoes, Cucumbers, Ewedu, Aubergine, all types of peppers including Yellow Bell Pepper (Capsicum Annum).
Yellow bell peppers are rich in Vitamin A and C. They have been linked to reducing the risk of many chronic illnesses such as heart diseases and cancer. Bell pepper also helps to improve eye health and prevents anemia.
This vegetable is used in a variety of foods including salads, rice, etc. and our children love all meals that have yellow bell pepper in them!
A huge shout out to Mr. and Mrs. Amosun (Cosmo Farmers Ltd) for loving us and feeding us over the years.
